"I want to thank all of you, our friends and family for your prayers
and support. After a 27 month battle with cancer, early this morning
my Dad went to be with the LORD. This has taken our family by quite
a surprise. Just this weekend while on the phone with my brother, my
Dad was quoted as saying: "Don't worry about me I am feeling just
fine." But never-the-less on Monday morning around 8 am my Dad
took a turn for the worse. The hospice nurse was alerted and she was
able to come out to help control the pain, the nurse also told my Mom
it would be a good time to call my brother Bryan who was up in Humboldt
CA with the Coast Guard, and myself (Jeremy) that we were needed now
to come home to be with the family. We were both able to drive home
to be with our Dad in the last few hours along with our Mom and sister.
It was a very precious time as we were able to laugh, cry and hold each
other. Then just before 3:30 our father took the last breath of his
feeble body on this world, and stepped into eternity to be with Jesus.
He left us in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family who
loved him most. Even now it is hard to find the words. Our family is
at such a loss. It is hard to think about a tomorrow without our dad
and husband. We cling to Psalm 68:5
"A father of the fatherless and a defender of the widow, Is
God in His holy habitation."
Please pray for our family as we begin to cope with being family minus
one. Which is a hard thing to come to terms with or try to consider
now. But God has always been here with us and He will continue to do
so.
